We welcome you as a member of our educator team. Joining our service is the first step in a career which has the ability to enrich your life and lives of children you provide education and care for.

We are committed to supporting you in this process through the induction process which is ongoing past the initial induction and regular professional development targeted at understanding your obligations and supporting you to enact these obligations.

Educators are our most precious resource. We recognise this means we must take the time to get to know you. To hear about your story and support you to successful operate your FDC business.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 

  • Possess a Certificate III or Diploma qualification in early childhood education and care OR be actively working towards a qualification
  • Holds Current First Aid Certificate (education and care setting HLTAID004)
  • Holds Current CPR Certificate
  • Holds a valid Working with Children Blue Card
  • Provide National Criminal records for the last 6 months
  • Medical clearance
  • Public Liability Insurance ($10 million)
  • The educator’s residence is located in the local Brisbane and Logan Region.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Possess knowledge and/or understanding of early childhood development and must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in and enthusiasm for helping children to grow and develop according to their individual needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and warmly with children and adults. (with the minimum standard of English as required by ACECQA)
  • Be willing to meet best practice standards and to continue their own ongoing professional development.
  • Has small business management skills, or the ability to acquire them, including being able to manage childcare processing software, financial and record keeping requirements, tax compliance and maintenance of insurances.
  • Is physically and mentally able to manage stressful situations and have the flexibility to respond to the changing demands of caring for children as they occur.
  • Residence is suitable. In determining the suitability of the candidate’s residence, consideration will be given to the number of children, their ages and abilities of children likely to attend the Family Day Care residence and the areas within the residence to be used and /or accessed by the children in care.
